To all our Members and Friends

I thought it would be appropriate to give you all an update before this awful year ends on our financial position as a consequence of the covid regulations. For the 8 months since lockdown at the end of March, almost all our income has come from those members who have given by standing order or pay direct to our Bank Account plus some limited fund raising. Only a very small amount has come from WFO envelopes which usually accounts for about 38% of all our offerings and if Gift AID is included that percentage is even higher. This is, of course because of the period of no Church services or limited services being allowed.

Sources of income from fund raising, use of the premises and congregational groups have been non-existent. We have therefore been running at a deficit for all these months. We have now made all the economies it is possible to make but we are still looking at a projected deficit for the foreseeable future of around £1,600 per month or £400 per week and we simply cannot sustain this beyond early 2021 from our limited resources.

The Kirk Session has looked at ways to try to resolve this position, and we now have to ask you to try to help, if you possibly can. We would ask you to consider the following options:-

1. Could you switch from using FWO envelopes to make direct payments to the Church Bank Account. This means that we would get the benefit of your offerings whether or not we can have Sunday Services. If you would like to do this please contact me for details.

2. If you pay Income Tax and have not signed a Gift Aid Form, please contact me and I can send you a Form. You only have to sign a Gift Aid Form once. It is not an annual thing. It is simple, easy and the Church gets money from the Government for free.

3. If you do not want to attend Church but would like your FWO envelopes put in, please contact me and I will arrange for these to be uplifted from your home.

4. If you already use a standing order and have had this in place for a number of years, please consider whether you would be able to increase the amount which you give each month.

Thank you all for your support at this difficult time. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like more information on any of these options, or if you have any other suggestions.

Yours sincerely
